Frankincense: The King of Essential Oils
It has been a while since I have shared on here, but I have not stopped loving and learning all about essential oils. On the contrary, I have been expanding my knowledge and working on a new adventure involving them ... more to be revealed below.
But anyway, guess what? I have a new favorite! I know I keep saying that, but I love them all so much, it’s hard to choose. These days, Frankincense essential oil is the one I like to play with the most. This exceptional product is highly regarded as the ‘King of Oils,’ and most famous as one of the gifts the three wise men brought to baby Jesus. The scent or aroma of Frankincense is so soothing and mellow. I won’t lie; when my husband wears it, I notice it right away, and I find it attractive. It reminds me of patchouli, but more subtle.
How do I use Frankincense?
After my morning shower, I put a couple of drops in my body lotion and my facial moisturizer. I love the smell, and it has many benefits for the skin, including anti-aging properties that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Also known to be a powerful antioxidant, it can improve brown spots, pores, and decreases scars’ appearance by promoting skin cell growth.
Another use for Frankincense is on tired or achy muscles and relief of stress. Since I already have it all over me after my shower, I am prepared for whatever the day brings me! So now I smell good, feel happy, and have a little more glow every morning. Who doesn’t want to start their day that way?

It’s only been two weeks since the stitches were removed – AMAZING!
Is Frankincense oil a little steep? Yes! But how much do you spend on anti-aging creams? Comparatively speaking, this is a bargain and there is so much more you can do with it!
Another of my favorite ways to use Frankincense essential oil is for headaches. You rub a drop on your temples, forehead, and back of the head/neck area. Wait 30 seconds, then layer a drop of peppermint oil on top of the Frankincense, and within 15 minutes – relief! For more severe headaches, layer lavender essential oil on both. For frequent sufferers, here is a roller blend you can have already prepared:
Frankincense is one of the key ingredients in doTerra Immortelle. Immortelle is an anti-aging serum I use on my face, that also includes many other essential oils known for their rejuvenating qualities. Also costly, but I have a hack … Because it is so strong, I take half out and add to another roller, fill it with sweet almond oil, and I get two for the price of one. Now, this one roller becomes two and lasts for months!
Why almond oil? This is one of the best carrier oils for skincare. Almond oil saturates deeper to reverse the damage; it contains the highest content of monounsaturated fatty acids making it extremely moisturizing. You can also read more about the benefits here. You can also use Jojoba oil – another excellent choice and great with essential oils.
Recently, a friend of mine and I, started making products with essential oils, and one of them is body butter with guess what? Yes – Frankincense essential oil! We also developed a lovely facial soap with Lavender, almond oil, and Frankincense.
