Where do I begin?  I have wanted to write a book about my life for years, but alas, a blog will have to do.  I started that book eight years ago, but life got in the way, so the book was put on hold.  My thought was to share my story with the idea that maybe I could encourage people not to be so judgmental. To be kind.

We shouldn’t judge anyone because we don’t know what a person has experienced in their life.  None of us have walked a mile in anyone else’s shoes but our own.  Things that have happened to us, shape us into the people we are and the choices we make.

To the average person who knows my name and says hello, they think I am just an ordinary housewife who has five kids with a lot of different last names. I also babysit, am a very involved parent, and a 28-year veteran of volunteering in the schools and on the field.   My home is in the suburbs of Westchester County, NY.   But how I came out this well is remarkable – The Grace of God!

My hope is to also bring awareness to some of the struggles we go through as a parent, woman or human being. When I tell friends about some of the many experiences in my life, I would say I am going to write a book one day.   As they get to know me better, they all say, you really should.  Nobody knows everything and nobody ever will because I am not sure I remember everything.   Some things have been blacked out or perhaps pushed back to the furthest recesses of my mind.  Maybe they should stay there.  One thing is for sure; I am not going to question it or look for it.  God doesn’t want me to remember.

My kids think this could be therapeutic … so here it goes … this is for those five amazing human beings who give me life and for my mom, the woman who gave me life and paved the way for me with her courage and strength while teaching me the meaning of the word perseverance.

My mother, myself, and my daughter holding her daughter just after birth in the hospital bed. 4 generations of strong women.
Four generations of strong women!
