Chapter 1, My Name Is…

Please allow me to introduce myself….

My name is …

Sandra Jean Hughes Goodwin Gavin Capobianco Riguzzi.

It’s a mouthful and sooooo long that I had to start a new line just to fit it. I have so many aliases that nobody will ever be able to pin a crime on me, and if you ever googled my name, the thing spins and spins and spins because it gets all confused! Ultimately it will probably find my Facebook page, but all you have to do is click the link on my blog – it’s so much easier that way.

So back to the name and how it came to be… here is my Readers Digest version, for now, all the fun(sarcasm) details will come later:

When I was born, my mother was technically still married to her first husband, Donald Hughes.   They had been separated, and she was dating my father, Joseph Goodwin.  She got pregnant, and Joe took off like the chicken he was.  She had me while still legally married to the Hughes guy, so that was my name.  Joe came back months after I was born, they got married, and my real father adopted me (and my two older brothers).

When I was 21, I got pregnant and married my boyfriend, Chris Gavin, and birthed my first gift, Christine Marie.  Within a couple of years, I was divorced and back with my High School sweetheart and first love, Artie Capobianco.  Next thing you know, I was pregnant again and had my second gift, Artie Jr.  I proceeded to get married again and a year and a half later came my third present, Roberta.  By the time she was 5, we were getting divorced.  I left and lived on my own for a couple of years and along comes Fred Riguzzi.

We bought a house and got married, and I wasn’t even pregnant yet!  I was only in my later 30s before I finally decided to do things in somewhat of a right order… A year after we got married, I birthed my Isabella. (see if you do the math, I didn’t lie) and then a year and a half later, my greatest gift, Joseph was born.

So there you have it, my name is …

As the Frank Sinatra song says, ” I Did It My Way.”  So what – I was married three times and had five kids – look at all this happiness!  When I look at these pictures, all I see is love and a successful life…
