On Guard & Back To School Essential Oils

School is starting all over the country. If life wasn’t difficult already, we have an extra layer of stress added with the COVID-19. So what can I do to protect my daughter’s health and well-being best as she goes off to college? I am sending her prepared with On Guard spray, On Guard hand-sanitizing gel, Copaiba essential oil, and InTune blend for focus.

While the other oils I have discussed are singular, On Guard oil is the first blend I am featuring and very essential for the upcoming school year. This blend consists of wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary oils. Not only does it help boost the immune and respiratory system, but it smells sooo yummy! When you walk in your home after a fresh pumpkin or apple pie has been baked, doesn’t it make you happy and lift your spirits? So this protects and gives a warm, cheerful elevation to whoever it touches. That’s a win-win in my book!

Our kids and selves are going to be disinfecting our hands for a long time to come.

When my Joe went to camp this year, there were many much-needed rules in place. One of them was the kids had to disinfect their hands every time they walked in and out of a room or changed areas. I figured that would amount to a good 20 times over a 6-hour time period.  I don’t know about you, but I am not fond of the smell of the OTC sanitizers, and can’t imagine it is suitable for us to keep breathing it in, so I made my own!

All you need is Aloe Vera Gel, 70% isopropyl alcohol, water, OnGuard, Vitamin E oil, and a small spray bottle. You can find the DoTERRA recipe here.

My variation of On Guard hand-sanitizer:

I use less alcohol, more vitamin E for extra softness, and other oils for a more fragrant and pleasing aroma. That’s the beauty of this recipe – you can adapt to make it your own. It’s safe, 100% natural, and Isopropyl alcohol is more effective against viruses, including influenza and respiratory infections, than hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol.

I also have OnGuard spray that I use to disinfect and freshen up my mask for when I get in and out of my car. It makes it easier to wear the face cover for more extended periods, and your breath smells better.

Other Back To School Essential Oils

My daughter, Isabella, has some anxiety, problems focussing, and because of these things, difficulty sleeping. Copaiba essential oil will help with sleep and stress, while the InTune Oil Blend promotes focus. I had given it to her originally in her freshman year when she was struggling, and it helped her. Now that the classes are mostly online, the problem with focusing has become more difficult.

She does better hands-on with a teacher in front of her. I imagine being in front of a computer all day is difficult for so many children, regardless of their age – it is for me! When she was in school, she had to sit in the front of the classroom and needed redirection. Not only is she going to school with one, but I also ordered InTune for my other daughter who works from home with three kids, and myself.

Lastly, I am sending her with a diffuser and her favorite scents. My girl loves her aromatics and has been using the oils to make candles to give out as gifts. I am going to miss my Bella when she leaves, but at least I know she will be prepared and thinking of me every time she uses her oils.
