Passion Award: Spreading The Love

Hey everyone! I was recently tagged in a #shareyourpassions nomination by Charli D at Life with Charli. Since I am working on my gratitude journal these days from being in a funk, this came at a good time for me. This is like winning a blogging award, and sharing your passion is a way of counting your blessings, SO if I can inspire one person who reads this to pursue their own passion, then it will be a beautiful trifecta!

Share Your Passion on a pinkish background.

Thank you so much to Charli for spreading the love she received on to me! You can read her inspiring post here.

Rules:

  1. Repost the #ShareYourPassion logo (above) on your acceptance post.
  2. Tag the blogger’s site that nominated you.
  3. Share a bit about your passion(s): what hobbies, outside of blogging, keep you busy in your free time? What would you like to accomplish with these things? How could you use your passion(s) to be a blessing to others and show them the love of God?
  4. Nominate ten other bloggers and spread the joy.

I don’t have any hobbies. I do like to play golf, cards, and hike, but none of those are a passion – mine all have the human touch.

My Greatest Passion Is My Children

My children are my greatest passion.  For as long as I can remember, all I ever wanted to be was a Mom and God blessed me with five loves. They were always my reason for being while they grew.  Since I was married three times (3rd time was the charm) I had to work even harder at being a good parent (as if it isn’t hard enough) and made sure I was there for every little thing.

Every job I had was designed around being able to get them to school, off the bus and never miss a game or dance recital.  I want nothing but the best for them; to be happy and live the life they dreamed of.  They are all out there in the world spreading that love and doing their part to make the world a better place.

Volunteering

Volunteering has always been a passion of mine. Ever since my children started school 29 years ago, I have been active in different organizations doing all sorts of fundraising and helping wherever I could. My favorite activity was coaching softball for my three daughters. The joy it gave me was indescribable and are my fondest memories – not just with my own kids, but the pleasure it gave me watching all the young ladies I helped.

Any kind of volunteering, when done with the right intentions, is showing whoever you are helping the love of God through yourself. It also shows others how rewarding it can be, and hopefully, one day they will pay it forward. I already see how it is instilled in my grown children.

Spreading My Passion

Since I would have said that blogging is my other passion, but that is against the rules, I will put it in another way. The reason why writing is so important to me is that spreading kindness and inspiration is my passion behind it. By sharing stories or putting little reminders on social media and acting accordingly. In other words, practicing what I preach while I am talking about it. Having been through some trials in my life, I want people to know that I am here for them, they aren’t alone and hopefully give them the strength to move forward from their own obstacles.

Friends

Spending time having coffee, a meal or a drink with my friends is a passion of mine. They are so important to me, a blessing, and many times keep me going. They encourage and support me to pursue my dreams, and it helps keep me going with my mission. My friends share my posts, send me messages with ideas, stories, quotes, and memes to help. This is a joint effort and I couldn’t do it without them. My post this week is on friendship so I will have more on Sunday.

All of these passions are in my life because of the grace of God. He got me through and bestowed all these gifts on me so I could be the person I am today and share them with the world.

    1. Thank you, Charli! I have met some of my closest friends volunteering. When I moved to a new school, it really helped me get to know people and be a part of the community. xoxo

  2. This was a lovely read, Sandy. I completely agree with you on the volunteering part, too. It is so satisfying to see you’ve helped someone learn and achieve something and hopefully they pass it forward too, which I think starts a healthy cycle of spreading goodwill and selflessness in the world.

It is amazing to have friends that help you and support you and your dreams. I am pretty sure your friends are all so lucky to have you on their side too. Much love to you! 🙂
