Take A Moment Today …

A couple of weeks ago, I woke up at 4 am, and I could hear the birds chirping. I took a moment to listen. It was a welcome sound, and I had a happy thought … the sound of spring!

After work on Friday, I was pulling up my driveway and saw my hyacinths are starting to pop up everywhere as they are sprinkled all around my yard.  We planted them years ago because purple is one of my favorite colors, and they have certainly taken on a life of their own! When I parked at the top, my daffodils were staring at me. When did that happen, I thought.

Late yesterday, as I was closing my windows, I saw the buds bursting on the trees, and I took a moment to pause. Every year, it’s just as beautiful as the year before. I realized I am always struck by the wonder of it – it’s almost as if I have never seen it before.

Oh, how the sights of spring make my heart sing!

I announced this exciting revelation to my husband as he had just walked in the door from work and he very happily exclaimed, ‘yeah, I saw it a few days ago.’

I thought about that for a moment, wondering if I was too busy to notice.  Was my mind so preoccupied with the noise of everyday life, I almost missed it?

Take a moment today.

Look out the window or step outside your front door, and take a deep breath. Listen to the sounds of nature singing, gaze upon the sight and beauty of new life, and feel the hope that spring brings.

That’s my wish for you today – a moment of wonder, peace, and hope.  I pray you feel it and pass it on to whomever’s path you cross with a gesture of kindness.

Happy Sunday!

Much love always,

Sandy
