Life Lessons in Sports: Part 2

I had a post written out to share with you guys this week, but as timing is everything, I changed my mind. Just about a year ago I wrote a blog about life lessons while playing sports. Involvement in sports played a big part in my philosophy of parenting. A few days ago I read a blog post about life lessons learned through watching the Super Bowl. Since over 100 million people watched that Super Bowl and it is still fresh in everyone’s mind, my feelings about finding a passion are going to have to wait.

This blog post written by Philosophy of Dad will now always be one of my favorites. Is it because of my love for watching professional football? Or the fact that I have a huge crush on Patrick Mahomes? Maybe a little bit … but mostly because of the life lessons he pointed out that one could learn from watching that game.

It resonated with me and honestly, wish I thought of it myself. I know it’s mostly women that read my blog, but please share this with your kids. Matter-of-fact, this post is written on a website for men, so share it with your husbands.

As a mom who has always felt that sports were so important for raising kids to keep them out of trouble and for the health and mental aspect of it, I feel this is a must-read! Philosophy of Dad is the website owned by writer and stay-at-home dad, Greg Stegemen. Please read and let us know your thoughts on Five Life Lessons you could take from Super Bowl LVI.

Another Life Lesson in Sports on the sidelines

I have to give a shout out to the strong woman that wasn’t playing in the game, but on the sidelines. Katie Sowers is the first woman to ever coach in the Super Bowl as an offensive assistant for the San Francisco 49ers. Another life lesson here for the ladies – you can be anything you want to be! Congrats to this woman for making her way in a man’s world and for helping pave the way for so many other young ladies who dare to dream outside the box.

If you didn’t see the link for a letter from Patrick Mahomes in Philosophy of Dad’s post, you can read it by clicking here … an inspiring letter from a great young man before he was drafted by the NFL.

Happy Sunday and Much Love!

Sandy
