Happy 4th of July! Today we celebrate our freedoms as stated in the Declaration of Independence and the birth of this great nation we live in. Last year, I wrote extensively on the actual document, so there is no need to do that again. But I couldn’t let the day go by without saying Happy Birthday, America!
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
In the past two weeks, I have felt as if there were a dark cloud hovering over my brain and body. Restlessly, I have been attempting to keep myself occupied, because doing nothing means I will sit on my phone. Regardless of what social media platform I use, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement covers my feed.
I do know is that women should have equal rights, equal representation, and equal pay in the workforce. I would ask the question why don’t they, but this has been a male-dominated world since it’s existence, so obviously, it is going to take some doing to turn centuries of being treated less than, to the way it should be – equal for all.
