Celebrating Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month so let the celebrating begin! This year I chose to highlight women who paved the way for the right to a fair and equitable education regardless of race or gender. Two strong ladies who made strides in education opening the door for more opportunity for ourselves and today’s youth.

I Need Some Advice

I don’t know what to do. The political climate is contentious, and we are all drawing lines in the sand. It’s all over social media, it is on every news channel, TV station, and in our homes. Sunday Morning Thoughts and the Birds

There are so many thoughts running through my head all the time. I am sitting in my backyard, listening to the birds chirp their different songs. One just landed on the grass a few feet away from me, danced around, and flew away. I am at peace.

Graduation Day: The End of an Era

The alarm went off at 7:55; my heart jumped and the tears popped into my eyes. My head told me to get up and move because I don’t want to be crying all day.

Mom, Mother, Mama, Mommy, or Mum

Overcome the Hate with Love

I am just going to have to come out of my bubble for a minute. Get my head out of the sand!  It isn’t as though I don’t know messed up shit happens in this world, I DO KNOW!   I just don’t want to watch it or hear about it anymore.  It can seriously ruin your mental health.
