Hello and Welcome!

My name is Sandy.  I am a twice-divorced, now 22 years happily married, a 58-year-old mother of 5, and Grandma of three.

I am the Mom of my own Breakfast Club; one a teacher and mom of 3, one riding the roller coaster of addiction, one a progressive activist on the rainbow, one a student/athlete, and my youngest, a special young man with Down Syndrome.  Each one unique and successful in their own right for where they are today!

But how did I get here?

One thing is for sure; it was a roller coaster of heartbreak, craziness, and life events.  However, love, faith, and perseverance won out!

Upon recent reflection aka my usual winter depression, seeing a psychic, and some inspiring comments from friends, I recently discovered what I want to do.  In this next chapter of my life – I want to tell my story.  I hope to help anyone, in any way I can, using my own life experiences.  My dream is to make this world a better place for you, me, and our loved ones.  Whether it would be to give you hope – because if I can do it, trust me, so can you.  Or maybe I can provide you with advice in helping you with a particular teenage dilemma – I HAVE lived through 28 cumulative teenage years, and I’m still going strong with one more to go!

Perhaps I can help you get unstuck from your past – mine certainly wasn’t pretty.  However,  I moved on and so can you.  Maybe I can give you the inspiration to help me help others and together change the culture we live in from the inside out.

So many different things that happened to me in my life made me who I am today.  I wouldn’t change a thing.  Of course, I would rather not have been molested, abused, a victim of sexual harassment, divorced, etc…but then my life would have been different, and so would my kids!  I am so proud of my children and myself for persevering, and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Lord knows where starting this blog is going, but I know that I have to do it.  I need to see what road it takes me on.  My hope is you will come with me because it has been my experience that nothing is better than a good road trip!

The story of why I decided to start a blog about me with the chapters of my life. A real life filled with difficult situations nobody should endure.

Much Love Always and don’t forget to jump aboard there is always plenty of room for one more,

Sandy
