Inner Peace: The Continuing Quest

Yesterday, I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to come somewhere with me. After thinking about it overnight, her response was she could not because she was trying to maintain her inner peace.

Well, that made me think …

I wasn’t going to write this weekend – just repost my menopause blog. You see, my Gratitude Journal, which I am still working on for my own inner peace, gives me a challenge every week. This past Tuesday, it said to give up all electronic devices for Saturday or Sunday.

At first, I thought it said “and” and I had to do both days, but then I put on my stronger glasses, and saw it said or. That put a smile on my face! I am going to use my journal as an excuse to take the weekend off from all social media and my phone. And, because I can be an over-achiever at times, I am going to double down on that challenge and go with the “and” anyway.

We are going to visit our daughter at college and I will just have my husband take the pictures. Perfect!! We do have experience with this after all when I went to visit my Roberta in San Francisco. But this time it is purposeful, not accidental.

I called or texted my kids informing them to call Freddy if they need anything, and I am off to get some quality time and inner peace.

Thank you, my friend, for my blog topic for this weekend. I am sending this out on Saturday just in case anyone else wants to join me for this challenge – any takers?? Let me know in the comments.

I promise you won’t regret it!

Much love always, and wishing you some inner peace this weekend,

Sandy

PS: The journal also says to give up sugar for the next three days … now that is difficult!

  1. Also, I wish you safe travels and a very great visit with your daughter!!! I hope you have a very peaceful trip for your heart.

    1. We did … we were able to spend a lot of time with our “step-daughter” and that made me happy! Too long of a story for this … so happy to hear from you and loved seeing all this today! You made my day and filled my heart. xoxo

  2. Haha! I gave up social media and blogging for a couple months now! I am trying to roll my heart and mind back into it- quite the opposite of what you are suggesting here. I am not going to lie. It is a struggle. It sure is freeing to not be tied to social media. I am afraid I did not miss the work of blogging. I did miss my blog reading though.

    1. Every week, I take a break from most of the social media. At first, I felt so much pressure, but now I don’t. I do the best I can and does feel freeing. I like IG because it’s pictures and easier. Are you on there? If so, friend me, please!! Lots of people from twitter are and it is so much easier to keep up. xoxo

  3. I’d more readily give up my phone than sugar for three days. We have to do frequent check-ins with our inner peace. Thank you for including me in this Sandy. I’m honored my friend. Much love to you!

    1. Haha – it was definitely easier! I am trying to figure out no phone every week. When I want to take weeks off, I am going to use your inspirations and just do a few words to make a point. Thank you for inspiring me!! xoxo

      1. Thank you my darling. <3

Always happy to hear from you ...
